İstanbul'da İstihdam Eğilimlerinin Belirlenmesi
Editor : İlker Akgün, Aliye Ahu Akgün
About the Book
The Istanbul Development Agency is supporting a project that is analysing Istanbul’s labour force structure. Although the city accounts for 20% of Turkey’s total employment, it only ranks fifth in terms of percentage. There has been an increase in female employment, while young people are entering the workforce later, and employment among older adults has also risen. Manufacturing, trade and services have emerged as key sectors, and the increase in white-collar employment reflects the city’s transformation into an administrative hub. Flexible working has become widespread, and three future scenarios have been identified: advanced services, technology, and advanced industry.
