The ETT 2018: 8th International Istanbul Textile Conference – Evolution of Technical Textiles was held at the TÜYAP Fair and Exhibition Center in Istanbul from April 14–16, 2018. With the theme “Recent Advances in Innovation and Enterprise in Technical Textiles and Clothing,” the conference aimed to share the latest developments in the textile and apparel industries while exploring the expanding role of textiles in applied materials science. Bringing together researchers, industry experts, and practitioners from around the world, the event featured studies across nine main themes: medical textiles, technical textiles, smart and interactive textiles, surface coatings, apparel design, ecological textiles, composite materials, textile innovations, and computer technologies for textiles and apparel. The conference sought to foster international collaboration and exchange of knowledge, and selected papers were published in a special issue of the Journal of Marmara University Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences.
